Montana Wild Sheep Foundation. The Montana Chapter of FNAWS was organized on May 9, 1992 and is affiliated with the national organization foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS). The founding members were all sheep enthusiasts from around the state of Montana and with a donation from the Montana Outfiters and Guides Association, the chapter had some funding and its beginnings.
In 2008, the National Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS) changed and shortened their name to the Wild Sheep Foundation. To keep continuity and simplicity the Montana Chapter also changed its name in 2009 to Montana Wild Sheep Foundation (MWSF).
