The Browning Arms Company is an American manufacturer which places its focus onto firearms as well as on fishing gear. It was originally founded in the city of Morgan in the state of Utah in the USA. The company has a wide range of different firearms to offer such as shotguns, pistols as well as rifles. Furthermore, being a whole-house approach seeker, the company is also manufacturing different sporting goods such as sport bows, fishing rods, reels, and knives.

The History

The company has an extensive history as it was founded 138 years ago all the way back in 1878. The Browning Arms Corporation was founded with the sole intention of marketing sporting and non-military designs of John Browning. He was without a doubt one of the most prolific fire-arms inventors in the entire world at this time. The majority of the designs of Browning are incredibly innovative. However, a wide range of them were licensed by other companies such as the world-famous Winchester, Colt, Fabrique Nationale d’Herstal of Belgium, Remington and many more. At this particular moment, Browning is a subsidiary of the FN Herstal Corporation.

What is it known for?

The Browning Arms Company is mostly known for a few firearms. These are the Browning BPS shotgun, the X-Bolt Rifle, the BAR semi-automatic rifle as well as the Hi-Power 9mm Pistol and the A-Bolt rifle. Furthermore, the company also manufactures trap shotguns in the series of Cynergy, which are quite popular.

Footwear

Back in 1968, the Browning Arms Company dully introduced a line of hunting boots. Interestingly enough, the company went on with the manufacturing of hunting wear up until 2001 when an agreement managed to be signed between Browning and the H.H. Brown Shoe Company to manufacture the footwear of Browning. Interestingly enough, the H.H. Brown Shoe Company is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway – the company of the famous investor Warren Buffet.

It’s safe to say that throughout the years of operation the Browning Arms Company has established a sound name for itself as a diverse manufacturer with a lot of respective fields of production. This is the main reason for which it has managed to stay afloat through the 138 years of operation.
