Local Reeves Take On SARM Rural Crime Resolution

Nice to see some people voicing their opinion on Canadians having more rights to protect ourselves, loved ones and yes property. The RCMP cannot be everywhere at all times and not only in rural parts of Canada do the RCMP take a long time to show up. Last year a man and his father were attacked by a person going through some stuff in their back yard. The son tackled the individual luckily without injury as the individual hit the father in the face with a brick that he had in a sock and could have hit the son if he didn’t act fast. It took the police 2 yes 2 hours to show up. They were in a major city! I believe Toronto. I am not saying we need the wild west but if we are confronted with an intruder or threat we should have more rights to protect ourselves and we should not see jail time unless the force was found to be unjust or have permanent damage to our criminal record even when found not guilty, this can happen. Please read the article below.

There were several topics brought up at the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) conference last week.
The annual conference featured speakers including Premiere Brad Wall, speaking to them about the budget. Several other issues were discussed as well, but the biggest one was a resolution brought forward about rural crime asking for more rights for farmers to protect their land. It passed with 93% voting in favour, but met with resistance from government officials and the RCMP.
Ron Brumwell, the Reeve for the RM of Moose Jaw didn’t say which way he voted, but did say that it is an important issue.
“We’re in favour of bringing attention to the lack of RCMP presence in rural Saskatchewan. It’s nothing new, by any means. It’s been going on for a number of years. The response time from detachments is getting longer and longer. So it’s an ongoing concern.”
Brumwell said that they have been lucky in his RM as there is a RCMP detachment located there.’
