Liberals Appoint Top Positions in New Advisory Committee

I am a little behind on my workload and apologize for the delay in commenting on the Canadian Firearms Advisory appointees.  I was wrong and Wendy Cukier was not added to the committee as of yet.  But I was close!  Read blow.  I am still confused as to why Ralph Goodale made a big deal about having 2 women as head of the group.  I am not sure why that matters, black, white, male, female…. shouldn’t matter.  Maybe its just to play toward the female voter as we know that’s one of Justin’s voter base.

Former Supreme Court justice John Major

Former Supreme Court justice John Major

Chair of CFAC:  retired justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Honourable John C. (Jack) Major:

I am still not sure about this addition.  I know he has a ton of legal knowledge to bring to the table and many years of experience in a lot of areas.  I am suspect that he’s ust there to inform on how to get around laws or make new ones that are more toward gun control.  But as I have said in the past I do not know enough about him but considering the Liberals are typically anti-gun I would assume his thinking is probably similar.

Nathalie Provost

Nathalie Provost

Vice chair of CFAC:  Nathalie Provost of Montreal is a survivor of the Polytechnique shootings and spokesperson for PolySeSouvient a Gun Control Group.

Nathalie Provost is a spokesperson for the PolySeSouvient and gun control organization.  So basically the same thing as Wendy Cukier in terms of an Anti Gun agenda.  I still cannot understand what this lady has to bring to the table.  I could be wrong but she will just bring emotion to the table.  Laws should not be based on emotion and only based on facts.  Don’t get me wrong we all feel for people who have been affected by violent crime but I don’t see her having the knowledge of firearms to be able to accurately and FAIRLY give a helpful unbiased opinion.  I honestly do not know much about the PolysSeSouvient group but I know the other Gun Control groups tend to lie and twist facts/stats.  I hope this lady does not do that same.  If this was a jury she would not be accepted because she has a bias.  Why is this different?

Lynda Kiejko

Lynda Kiejko

Vice chair of CFAC:  Lynda Kiejko of Calgary is a Canadian Olympian

This should be a good thing for the pro-gun crowd.  My only fear is that she will be out matched.  She is facing a former Supreme Court judge with decades of experience and an anti gun women who has a deep seeded hate for firearms and runs an anti gun group.  But Lynda Kiejko is an Olympian so I know she has the ability and mental strength to push threw.  I just hope she can and get her views heard.  I of course assume she’s on the pro-gun side and by that I mean not just for certain types of firearms and only for certain uses, just because she’s a shooter doesn’t mean she’s for all types of firearms such as semi-auto’s.  I believe most of her shooting was in the pellet pistol realm.
