In their own words:
MVRRC is a non profit club with over 1000 members (June, 2014), including families. We rely on member participation in order to provide the best environment for safe and fun shooting at a reasonable cost.
There are two scheduled re-occuring club shoots per month at MVRRC. The first is on the first Sunday of the month, which is an IPSC shoot, and on the second Sunday of the month there is a clay shoot scheduled. There are nominal fees associated with these events, mainly to purchase the supplies needed – clays, targets and any prizes awarded.
Club shoots do take precedence over members showing up to practice, which can include more than one range needing to be used for events.
The range is open to all active members and their guests during daylight hours. A single guest can come to range maximum three times per calendar year, and is asked to pay a $5 insurance charge to the ‘honesty box’. Our insurance is provided through the NFA Liability Insurance Program (AllSport Insurance Marketing Ltd.). Persons under the age of 18, guests, and non members do have to be supervised by an active member at all times.
Training is available for all disciplines of shooting by way of our memberships’ extensive and varied experience. Certification courses for licensing are available through the club and and instruction is provided by our government approved instructors at a reasonable cost.
We currently employ Range Inspectors to carry out the day-to-day cleanup of the ranges, as well as maintain buildings and report any larger jobs needed to be done by membership or a third party company. They also monitor and report members activities, as well as do spot checks for proper paperwork, identification and ensure members shoot safely and responsibly.
