Quebec to get its own gun registry – Here We Go Folks!

Well here we go everyone another giant waist of tax payers money and another BS law that does nothing to help anyone. Of course I am talking about the Quebec’s new gun registry. We all know that the budget for this will go WAY over what they state, a typical function of government. Below is the CBC article and shocking it basically only one sided! I feel for the lady that lost a child but that should not be the only response to this on a national news site like the CBC. Not to mention this money should be spent on mental health, gun smuggling or just maybe gangs where the REAL problems are.
My real concern about this whole thing is that it opens the doors for EVERY province to make their own gun registry and trust me they will. My guess Ontario will be next and I do believe BC will follow shortly after. I believe this will also mean other gun laws will be put into the hands of provinces and I don’t think thats what we want. Some of you may say it is but with the exception of Alberta this would not be in our favour. It will make the fight against gun control much harder and much more expensive as each province will have to be fought instead of just the federal government. Further down the line if this is not prevented the cities will start to get a say. If that ever happens say goodbye to 99% of our firearms, all that will be left is bolt action rifles and single shot shotguns.
Our “friend” Mr. Justin Trudeau said he wouldn’t do another registry, he won’t be the provinces will!

CBC ARTICLE:
A bill that will allow Quebec to create its own gun registry has earned the overwhelming support of the National Assembly.
MNAs voted 99 to eight in favour of replacing the long-gun registry that was dismantled by the federal government in 2012.
The new law will require all firearms in the province to have a serial number, which will then be inscribed in a database. Gun sales will also have to be signaled to authorities.
Of the votes against the registry, seven came from members of the Coalition Avenir Québec, though 10 Liberal MNAs were noticeable by their absence.
The bill faced stiff opposition from Quebec’s gun lobby, which had organized several protests outside the offices of rural MNAs.
‘I was so happy’
The bill was initially tabled in December, and its supporters celebrated it being passed on the second-to-last day of the legislative session.
“I screamed. I was ecstatic. I was so happy,” Louise de Sousa said Thursday after hearing the news.
Her daughter Anastasia was killed in the Dawson College shooting almost 10 years ago.
“For me, what it means, is some kind of security,” de Sousa said. “It won’t stop every single shooting there might be. But if it stops one … that makes a difference.”
The registry is expected to be up and running by 2018. Its creation will cost an estimated $17 million. Annual operating costs are pegged at $5 million.
